Therapist Website Examples - 5 Welcoming Sites That Reassure Clients

5 in-depth reviews of therapy websites that highlight top features and missed opportunities.

An example of a therapist website.

Researching therapy websites, I quickly noticed that most feature detailed descriptions of their approach to therapy and services, along with photos and bios of their therapists and contact information. Standout sites, however, also had an online booking function, additional resources, a blog, reviews or ratings, and a rundown of their fees.

I also found that sites using calm color palettes and clean, uncluttered designs are more appealing than very busy ones, as they make a focused and balanced impression that aligns well with the concept of mental well-being. Pinnacle Psychology is the private practice website of Dr. Bigler, a licensed psychologist specializing in a wide range of mental health concerns and offering both in-person and virtual therapy sessions. I liked the site's clean, professional design and straightforward navigation, making it easy for me to access key information.

I enjoyed the concise but informative overview of the practice's services and the psychologist's profile with an image on the home page. I thought encouraging users to schedule a consultation if they were unsure where to begin was a particularly helpful message to include, setting a considerate and supportive tone for the website.

2.  The London Practice

The London Practice offers a range of services that support their clients' mental well-being, but their core offering is psychotherapy. With a hero video featuring the practice's therapists and a prominent text overlay that reads "Dedicated to your wellbeing," the website makes an engaging, caring, and approachable impression.

Compelling features that made the site stand out to me include client reviews, providing a very welcome trust element, videos introducing the individual therapists, and a selection of filters to help users find a therapist who meets their needs.

3.  Kristina Monroe

Kristina Monroe is a psychologist licensed in California, New York, New Jersey, and Florida, across which states she provides her services via telehealth appointments. Her website is refreshingly simple, with all information provided on one page and a top-page menu with links for scheduling appointments, accessing meetings, and messaging.

I liked the color burst of the hero image, starting site visitors off with a vibrant energy. The airy layout and minimalist visuals and color scheme across the rest of the site work well to convey a more calm and collected brand image, which I thought was very suitable for a therapist website.

4.  Maryland OCD & Anxiety Therapy

Maryland OCD & Anxiety Therapy is a therapy practice that provides evidence-based treatment for teens and adults with OCD, anxiety disorders, and body-focused repetitive behavior disorders. The website domain name differs from the acronym, M.O.A.T., the practice uses in its branding, which also inspired the choice of some of its visuals and logo.

I liked the use of dark blue to break the monotony of a white background on the home page, but thought the "Specialties" and "Services" pages lacked visual appeal. However, they do provide detailed information about the practice's services. The blog is also a wonderful addition but could do with more user-focused support resources.

5.  Ottawa Therapy Group

Ottawa Therapy Group is a mental healthcare practice that offers in-person counseling and online therapy services. Their website has a very elegant appeal, thanks to a sophisticated, minimalist black and tan color palette. Aside from the therapist profile photos, the site relies heavily on stock images, which make it feel rather impersonal.

While I was also bothered by the use of the same image banner on several pages, I did like that the site gave clear information about fees, is available in French, and features a blog.
