RES is a renewable energy company with global projects focusing on wind, solar, energy storage, and green hydrogen. The website's nature-inspired design elements, including the color scheme and hero image, stood out to me and I think it effectively highlights the company's specializations.
I enjoyed perusing the website's home page and reading up on the company's work, latest resources, and sustainability initiatives, which were beautifully organized in an easy-to-read format. A notable feature for me was the accessibility toolbar in the top menu bar, which contains a wide variety of helpful site accessibility options.
I liked the desktop website's nicely organized content and the ample use of white space ensured that all sections had enough breathing room. While I appreciated the in-depth content coverage, I did get a little lost in the large selection of page links and I was unsure about where to find specific information. It was also quite disappointing that the website's video content did not play, which definitely impacted my browsing experience.
Performance-wise, all pages loaded reasonably fast but as mentioned, the video content did not load at all. On Google's PageSpeed Insights test, the home page scored 84/100 in the performance category.
On mobile, the website retains its polished appearance and I liked that the global page links and search bar remain prominent in the top menu bar. I found that the various page links remained uncluttered on the smaller screen and it was easy to navigate between pages, albeit a little overwhelming with the large amount of text.
Similar to its desktop counterpart, the mobile website's video content did not play correctly. Another downfall was that the accessibility toolbar was not available on mobile. The home page was awarded a PageSpeed Insights score of 47/100 in the performance category.
